Adrien Rabiot is having a less than stellar end of the season amid the rumors about his Juventus future. The midfielder is legitimately torn about extending his stay in Turin. In addition to the uncertainty about Massimiliano Allegri, as the two are very tight, he’d like some technical reassurances to re-up his contract, Calciomercato informs.

The parties have postponed the matter until after the season, or at least when it becomes official that the Bianconeri will return to the Champions League. The Frenchman hasn’t been as good as in the past this year. He has posted three goals and four assists so far. Instead, he had put up 11 and 6 in the two stats in the previous campaign. He has been pretty underwhelming in recent fixtures after suffering a toe injury.

Juventus will make further attempts to keep Rabiot but will likely have to give him a pay raise. Conversely, the midfielder wants to be sure to be part of a competitive team. He’s close with Thiago Motta too.

The French star stated he’d like to decide before the Euro. He earns €7M currently. It’d be easier for Manchester United and Newcastle to hand him larger wages.

Our Take on Juventus and Rabiot

His dip was probably injury or motivation-related. He hasn’t been much worse than some other key contributors, though. One has to wonder whether the Old Lady will walk away from some contractual talks with big figures at stake to contain their payroll at some point.
