The USWNT handled their business on Friday night. The US defeated Vietnam 3-0 in their first group stage match of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. Fans knew it was on the moment the women walked outside of their hotel lobby.

Thanks to the USWNT social media team, we have an epic video of the players walking out in custom Nike x Martine Rose suits. Every single player looked fly, but two of the team's leaders took it to a new level with a subtle twist in their footwear.

In addition to being two of the most tenured players on the roster, Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe are both longtime Nike athletes. So it was only fitting that Morgan and Rapinoe used the literal red carpet to debut the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 sneakers.

Morgan wore the teal and purple 'Scuba Blue' colorway while Rapinoe rocked the orange and yellow 'Safety Orange' colorway. Personally, we feel Rapinoe should have worn the 'Scuba Blue' sneakers to match her hair, but alas. Below is what fans must know about the new shoes.

Nike Shox MR4

Nike has recently teamed up with designer Martine Rose to refresh her now-iconic Nike Shox MR4. Inspired by the vibrant hues of 1990s goalkeeper jerseys, the latest edition launches in striking gradient colorways.

The 'Scuba Blue' hit shelves earlier today and sold out quickly. However, fans still have a shot at purchasing the 'Safety Orange' colorway at retail price when they release on Thursday, July 27, on the Nike SNKRS website. Additionally, soccer fans can shop for officially-licensed USWNT apparel and sneakers on their section of the Nike website.

The Nike Shox MR4 design embodies the fusion of opposites, pairing elements of a quintessential dress shoe with the sporty sensibility of Nike Shox. The silhouette is stretched and pulled into a new mule shape, the columns are lifted into a heel, and the toe is squared-off in a formalwear flourish.

The combination of the custom suits and the highly-anticipated kicks is a chef's kiss. We have no notes on the players' pregame outfits or on-field performance. We are already excited to see what the team has planned for their next match.
