Player to watch vs. Lightning: Kevin Hayes
USA TODAY Sports

My player to watch for the St. Louis Blues against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday is center Kevin Hayes.

Hayes is coming off a one goal, one assist game in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win against the Dallas Stars and seems to be slowly but surely finding his comfort zone.

Playing with young workers Alexey Toropchenko and Jake Neighbours since Drew Bannister took over as coach a week ago, Hayes is continuing his trend of adding offense after a slow start to the season.

Hayes now has scored seven times the past 13 games after scoring just twice (in the same game) in 17 games to begin the season.

His line will likely be anchored with containing Tampa's big line of Tanner Jeannot, Anthony Cirelli and Michael Eyssimont.
