While Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is preparing to chase his second Stanley Cup championship amid the coronavirus pandemic, he added a different accomplishment to his resume on Wednesday: Two-time father.
Earlier Wednesday, the Capitals and Nastya Shubskaya Ovechkina shared the news of the birth of Ilya Aleksandrovich Ovechkin:

According to Shanna McCarriston of CBS Sports, Nastya's Instagram post translates: "27.05.2020 Our son was born, Ilya Aleksandrovich Ovechkin. 55 cm 3800 g! We are the happiest."
Sergei, the couple's first son who shares the name of Alex's late brother, was born in August 2018.
On Tuesday, Ovechkin and the Capitals learned they will take part in a round-robin format to determine seeding ahead of a standard Stanley Cup Playoffs tournament.
Those games could begin by the middle of July.
