Ahead of the Los Angeles Rams is an opportunity to pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

It is something the team hasn't done since drafting former quarterback Jared Goff.

With an opportunity to swing early in the draft, adding help on the defensive line is a move the Rams might make, according to A to Z Sports' Travis May's 2024 mock draft.

With pick No. 19, A to Z Sports has the Rams selecting Byron Murphy II out of Texas.

The defensive lineman is an intriguing prospect because at 6-foot-1, 300 pounds, he has an odd build. But it may be an advantage once he gets to the NFL.

He pressured the quarterback more than any other defensive tackle in the nation during the 2023 college football season. Murphy also scored two offensive touchdowns this season, adding to a career that featured 68 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and eight sacks.

Murphy also played a central role in helping Texas secure a defensive line that allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game at 80.8.

In the second round, A to Z Sports has the Rams' defense getting even scarier with the selection of Edgerrin Cooper, the linebacker out of Texas A&M.

If the first two rounds of the NFL Draft go per A to Z Sports' predictions, it will be a good day for Sean McVay and Co.
