Former Celtics Center Taking His Talents Overseas
USA TODAY Sports

After going 12-10 in the regular season, AEK B.C. reached the final four of the chase for the Greek Basketball Cup. Unfortunately for them, that's where their campaign ended, finishing in fourth.

Now, a club that already employs former NBA players Ben McLemore and Jordan McRae continues loading up in its quest for the cup, signing former Boston Celtics center Mfiondu Kabengele.

The 27th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft was on a two-way deal last season, splitting his time between Boston and Maine.

He averaged 20 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game for the Maine Celtics, earning a spot on the All-NBA G League Second Team and All-NBA G League Defensive Team.

Kabengele then suited up for the Atlanta Hawks at Summer League, but after starring in Sin City for the C's a year ago, he didn't receive a training camp invitation from the team that took Boston to six games this past postseason.

But if the former Florida State Seminole, who recently turned 26, performs well overseas, there may be another chapter in his NBA career.
