New York Yankees second baseman Rougned Odor showed determination and grit when he accidentally slammed his knee into the head of Houston Astros catcher Martin Maldonado while crossing home plate in the bottom of the sixth inning of Tuesday's 7-3 New York win:
A ton happening here. The bases are cleared and 3 runs score on an infield single by DJ LeMahieu & a throwing error by Alex Bregman.

Hoping Rougned Odor is okay.

That came at a price, however, as the Yankees have placed Odor on the 10-day injured list with a left knee sprain. In a corresponding roster move, the Bronx Bombers recalled right-hander Albert Abreu from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
"I think all things considered, we kind of lucked out," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of Odor, who hadn't yet been evaluated by team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad, according to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). "It looked ugly to me right away, and I was pretty concerned. So I think it's going to be on the shorter side. I don't want to speculate until Dr. Ahmad kind of gives that prognosis, but I don't think it's going to be too long."
The Yankees acquired Odor in an early April trade with the Texas Rangers. He's hitting .164 with four home runs and 11 RBIs across 19 games this season.
