PITTSBURGH – It only took one inning for West Virginia’s night at PNC Park to be an historic one for the WVU baseball program.
When first baseman Grant Hussey smashed a three-run homer in the first inning, it gave the Mountaineers a 4-0 lead and also tied the all-time West Virginia record. Hussey now has 35 career dingers throughout his time at WVU.

Hussey is now tied with Jedd Gyorko and Tim McCabe for the school record. He now has 10 home runs and 29 RBI on the season.
Hussey entered the day with a .250 career average 35 home runs, 107 RBI, a 76 walks and a .379 on-base percentage.
