MLB Playoff picks: Best bets for NL wild-card Game 2s

The National League wild-card round began Tuesday with the Arizona Diamondbacks knocking off the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-3, and the Philadelphia Phillies taking care of the Miami Marlins, 4-1. We had a good day ourselves with winners on D-backs moneyline (+165), Christian Walker over 0.5 RBIs (+175) and Phillies-Marlins under 7.5 (-108).

Let's keep it rolling with a few more best bets for both NL Game 2s.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

7:08 p.m. ET
Diamondbacks moneyline (+114 DraftKings)

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We hit Arizona ML in Game 1, and we're going right back to the well in Game 2.

The D-backs will be rolling with ace Zac Gallen, who is 2-0 with six hits allowed, one earned run and 15 strikeouts in two starts against the Brewers this year. Brewers starter Freddy Peralta was brilliant down the stretch of the regular season, but it won't be easy to perform with the pressure of an elimination game on his shoulders.

Corbin Carroll home run (+550 DK)

Corbin Carroll is a star in the making, and he proved just that by going 2-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two walks in his first career playoff game. I could see the sophomore putting up a special postseason.

Peralta has given up at least one home run in six straight starts, and Carroll has cracked 22 of his 26 home runs this year off right-handed pitching. Let's ride the hot hand at a big price.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Miami Marlins

8:08 p.m. ET
Over 8 (-115 DK)

We cashed the under on Game 1 of this series, but we're flipping to the over in Game 2.

Let's start with Aaron Nola. The Phillies starter faced the Marlins three times this season. He gave up four earned runs in each of those three starts, and all three games finished with at least 10 runs scored. As for Marlins starter Braxton Garrett, the left-hander gave up three earned runs in both of his starts against Philadelphia this year. Both of those games finished with at least eight runs scored.

Oh, and the wind will be blowing straight out to center field at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night, which will only help our cause.

Alec Bohm over 1.5 total bases (+105 DK)

This Phillies lineup doesn't have the best track record against Garrett, but Alex Bohm sure does. The Philly third baseman is 5-9 in his career against Garrett with four singles and a home run. Bohm hit only .224 with six extra-base hits in 58 at-bats last postseason, but this is the perfect matchup for him to enjoy a big night.
