We tacked on yet another winner in home run props thanks to Kyle Schwarber and his first-inning bomb Wednesday afternoon. Let's keep the hot streak rolling with my three favorite HR props for Thursday's MLB slate.
Mookie Betts is on a ridiculous stretch of 41 hits and seven home runs over his last 94 at-bats, which gives him a .436 batting average and a 1.232 OPS over the last month. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder has cooled off of late with a .188 batting average and no homers over the last week, but that's giving us a friendly price we'll gladly jump on. In four career at-bats against Miami Marlins starter Braxton Garrett, Betts has gone yard twice.
Thursday's game between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers looks like a perfect target for home run props, as the strong winds and friendly weather are creating a projected 25 percent boost to homers (Ballpark Pal). That's by far the highest boost of the slate. Let's roll with DJ LeMahieu, who's been on fire lately with a team-leading six home runs over the last 15 days. LeMahieu is also batting .346 in 26 career ABs against Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez, so we'll ride the strong matchup and the hot bat.
It wouldn't be a home run prop column without a mention of the Atlanta Braves, right? Marcell Ozuna is swinging one of the hottest bats in the league, as he's hitting .346 with a 1.246 OPS and five homers over his last 44 at-bats. St. Louis Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright has been knocked around for 25 earned runs over his previous five starts, and I like Ozuna's price the best out of Atlanta's power hitters.
