Contract Details For Mets OF Revealed

The New York Mets signed outfielder Harrison Bader earlier this week and the details of his contract have been reported by the New York Post.

The Mets and Bader agreed to what was reported as a one-year $10.5 million deal. The deal became official on Friday.

Bader will receive a $1 million signing bonus, per the Post. His base salary with the Mets will be $9.5 million.

Bader will also be eligible for a host on incentives based on his play. He could receive a $50,000 bonus for each of the following milestones — making the All-Star Team, winning a Gold Glove, winning a Silver Slugger or winning the MVP award. If he finished second in MVP voting he gets $25,000, and if he finishes third he gets $10,000.

If the Mets advance to the playoffs and Bader is the MVP of the NLCS he would get another $50,000. If the Mets end up making the World Series and he’s the MVP he would net another $100,000.

Bader has never been an All-Star, but he won a Gold Glove with St. Louis in 2021.

Bader spent part of 2023 with the New York Yankees before he was waived by the Yankees and signed with the Cincinnati Reds. He only played in 12 games before he became a free agent.

He’s been a lifetime .243 hitter with 59 home runs and 217 RBI. His best season offensively was that 2021 season with the Cardinals when he batted .267 with career highs in home runs (16) and RBI (50). Bader hasn’t approached those number since.
