Georgia QB Carson Beck lands with AFC West team in way-too-early 2025 mock draft
Joshua L. Jones-USA TODAY NETWORK

The 2025 NFL Draft is set to feature multiple intriguing quarterback prospects within its class, though it doesn't appear to be nearly as deep as 2024's crop.

One of the biggest names to watch, and perhaps the best quarterback in the nation, is Georgia signal-caller Carson Beck. All eyes will be on where he finds his NFL landing spot as a projected first-round selection for April of next year.

In Travis May of A to Z Sports' latest 2025 mock draft, Beck found his destination with the Las Vegas Raiders at pick No. 8 overall. May had only one quarterback, Texas passer Quinn Ewers, going off the board ahead of Beck at the position.

But he didn't rule out the possibility of the Bulldog surpassing the Longhorn.

"Thanks to the six-quarterback run in the first 12 picks of the 2024 NFL Draft the Raiders missed out on solidifying their future," May wrote. "They won't let that happen again in 2025. Carson Beck posted a top ten quarterback efficiency composite score (16-pronged production metric) among all power conference passers last season. If he takes one more step he may actually be the QB1 of the class."

Beck has been praised for his efficiency from the pocket and ability to take what the defense gives him, managing the game at a high level. But perhaps what has not been talked about enough is his ceiling and ability to improvise with his legs in a way that has greatly helped Georgia in third-down situations.

Beck finished out the 2023 season with a 72.4% completion rate, throwing for 3,941 yards with 24 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

How his stock continues to rise will be something monitor as Georgia kicks off the 2024 schedule on the road against the Clemson Tigers on Aug. 31.
