Just two weeks into Darian DeVries’ job at West Virginia, the Mountaineers have seen roster movement beginning to flip.
WVU has two new players under DeVries and has had three players from last season’s team hit the transfer portal. Let’s take a look at West Virginia’s current roster for the 2024-25 season.

West Virginia has six scholarship spots open as of this publishing. To this point, the Mountaineers have lost Josiah Harris (F), Kerr Kriisa (G) and Seth Wilson (G) to the transfer portal in the last two weeks.
WVU has one transfer commit in Tucker DeVries, the son of head coach Darian. DeVries averaged 21.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Bulldogs this past season. DeVries shot 44% from the field, 36% from three and 81% from the free throw line. DeVries is the reigning back-to-back Missouri Valley Player of the Year and is highly ranked amongst the 1,200 transfers to enter the portal thus far.
The Mountaineers lost signee Carmelo Adkins, who requested a release of his National Letter of Intent last Thursday. Hours later, WVU received a commitment from Drake decommit KJ Tenner. Tenner, who was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Tennessee, averaged 23 points as a senior and led the city of Memphis in scoring with 28 points per game as a sophomore.
